Pioneer Valley residents urged caution with driving, advised to observe parking bans.
According to meteorologists with CBS 3 Springfield, the Pioneer Valley can expect to see two to five inches of snow throughout the afternoon and into the evening, with the heaviest snowfalls in the hilltowns.
Multiple, though minor, accidents were reported on the Massachusetts Turnpike near the Berkshires as snow began to fall this afternoon, according to State Police. Drivers are obviously advised to use caution.
Parking bans include:
Granby: No on-street parking beginning at 12:00 P.M. Saturday until further notice.
Holyoke: No parking on the even side of any streets from 5:00 p.m. on Saturday through 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Ludlow: No on-street parking beginning 6:00 p.m. Saturday until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Northampton: No parking on any city streets from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, except for Main Street. Parking there is prohibited from 2:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. on Sunday.
