Collections are by appointment only.
EAST LONGMEADOW - The 2012 household hazardous waste regional collection day for Wilbraham and surrounding towns will be Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Longmeadow fire station parking lot at 150 Somers Road in East Longmeadow.
The collection is for residential waste only and serves residents of East Longmeadow, Hampden, Longmeadow, Ludlow and Wilbraham.
Collections are by appointment only. Appointments may be made on a first come, first served basis. Proof of residency is required.
Appointments may be scheduled on Sept. 10, 11 and 12 only.

For Wilbraham, a car sticker is required.
Items which will be accepted include aerosol cans, metal polish, ammonia solution, moth balls, antifreeze motor oil, art supplies and bleach no-pest strips.
Also, brake fluid, oven cleaner, carburetor cleaner, paint, chlordane paint thinner, craft supplies, pesticide, creosote, photo chemicals, degreaser, pool chemicals, drain cleaner and rechargeable batteries.
Also, driveway sealant, rodent killer, engine degreaser, rust preventative, fertilizer, sealant, floor cleaner solvent, furniture polish, thermometers, gasoline, herbicide, wood preservative, insect spray, wood stain, kerosene and wood stripper.
A thermometer exchange will be offered again this year. Exchange your mercury thermometer for a new free digital thermometer.
Do not bring: asbestos, biological waste, commercial waste, televisions or computers, latex driveway sealant, empty containers, explosives, fluorescent bulbs, industrial waste, latex paint which should be dried out and put with trash, smoke detectors, tires, propane tanks or unused medications.
